About Us
A Reading Circle is hosted by super awesome American sisters Judy and Nina Alley from their studio in Tucson, Arizona USA.
Judy is an educator as well as a former television news anchor and reporter. Nina is also an educator as well as a former child social worker, and paralegal.
Both sisters have YEARS of experience teaching the beautiful children of China how to read, speak, and write the English language.
Since 2016, Judy and Nina have worked with many prestigious online educational companies across China including VIPKID, Sincewin, EF Education First, and Magic Ears. In fact, Judy loved teaching the Chinese children so much that she moved to Beijing in 2019 to work as a curriculum advisor, teacher, and video talent for educational media power house New Oriental Group.
Both of the Alley sisters are avid readers and know first hand that literature is one of the most important disciplines to lifelong learning and success in school.
When they began to teach online English classes to the children of China, they realized immediately that reading was absolutely one of the BEST ways for these students to learn the language.
They observed first hand that reading effectively and quickly introduced these children to new sounds, words and grammatical rules. They also realized that SEEING the text of new words and concepts helped visually reinforce their English learning efforts.
Now, Judy and Nina want to use their experience, knowledge and passion for books to help YOUR child reach his or her reading potential.

How It Works
It’s easy to join this incredible learning adventure! Simply choose the class level/class time you and your child would like to join, click the Class/Zoom link, and enter the live book reading.
We offer three levels of book readings every Saturday and Sunday morning/afternoon:
Level 1
Novice-Beginner
(No reading skills to some reading skills)
Level 2
Advanced Beginner
(Some reading skills to basic reading skills)
Level 3
Intermediate
(Basic reading skills to advanced reading skills)
- Each book reading lasts between 30-50 minutes depending on the class level.
- We provide a preview of the book-materials that will be used during each live reading so you can find the perfect class level for your child.
- The full text for the book will be displayed in English during each live class so you and your child can easily follow along as Judy and Nina read aloud.
- Six live book readings are held each weekend.
- Three levels are held on Saturday morning/afternoon and three levels are held on Sunday morning/afternoon.
- All three of the books used for the Saturday live readings will also be used for the Sunday live readings during our company launch. In spring of 2023, we hope to expand our live book reading program to include DAILY live sessions that feature new books for every class!
- All of our live book readings are uploaded to YouTube so you can view any class you missed, or review any class at any time or FREE!!!!
*For your convenience we offer an English-Chinese translated PDF copy of each story we read in class along with vocabulary words to allow you and your child to practice his or her reading skills at home.
